Rio Johan is a Partner leading the firm’s Tax and Accounting practice, with a focus on international taxation, transfer pricing, and financial structuring. He is dual-qualified as a lawyer and chartered accountant, bringing an integrated legal and financial perspective to complex cross-border transactions and regulatory matters.

Rio advises multinational corporations, investment groups, and foreign investors on tax-efficient structuring, transfer pricing compliance, and financial reporting frameworks in Indonesia. His practice covers the full spectrum of tax advisory, including corporate taxation, international tax planning, and dispute-sensitive matters involving tax authorities.

He has extensive experience supporting multinational clients in managing intercompany transactions across jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with Indonesian tax regulations and the Arm’s Length Principle. His work includes long-term advisory on transfer pricing documentation and planning for multinational groups with transaction values reaching into the trillions of rupiah, as well as advising on IFRS-aligned financial structuring for foreign-invested companies operating in Indonesia.

Rio has also been involved in high-impact tax recovery and controversy matters, including successfully assisting a multinational construction company in securing VAT refunds exceeding IDR 100 billion. His ability to combine technical precision with strategic execution has made him a trusted advisor in navigating complex tax environments.

In addition to his advisory work, Rio is active in academia as a lecturer, contributing to the development of legal and accounting professionals. He is a member of the Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI) and the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI).
